Our recognition program was created so we could show our appreciation to the suppliers who have adopted Honda's philosophy of consistently exceeding expectations. The American Honda Premier Partner Program was established in 1997.
Recipients are selected based on several components including:
- Excellence in quality, delivery, development, customer service & budget management
- Project complexity
- Years of service to American Honda
OEM / Direct Awards
- Challenging Spirit Award
- Awarded to suppliers in recognition of support and performance exceeding our expectations. (Usually in response to unique or extraordinary situation.)
- Excellence in Delivery Award
- Awarded annually to suppliers at the top of their commodity classification, as measured by Honda's delivery performance index.
- Additionally, the supplier must also have demonstrated superior quality performance.
- Excellence in Quality Award
- Awarded annually to suppliers at the top of their commodity classification, as measured by Honda's quality and warranty performance index.
- Additionally, the supplier must also have demonstrated superior delivery performance.
- Excellence in Value Award
- Awarded annually to suppliers that have exhibited superior performance in the areas of process innovation and new model development, which has resulted in major improvements in cost competitiveness.
- Corporate Citizenship Award
- Awarded annually to supplier(s) who have achieved superior levels of success in their corporate responsibility initiatives, in their contributions to their community, and reducing their impact on the environment.
