HONDA OF CANADA MANUFACTURING (HCM)

Honda of Canada Mfg. (HCM) is located in Alliston, Ontario. HCM began car production in November 1986, building Accords for the North American market. Today, HCM builds five vehicles in two plants for North America and the world. The Honda Civic and the Acura EL are built at Plant 1. The Honda Ridgeline, the Acura MDX and the Honda Pilot are produced at Plant 2, which started operation in September, 1998. Total annual production capacity is 390,000 units.

Both plants feature welding, painting, final assembly and quality control departments. The stamping and bumper paint departments are located at Plant 1 and produce parts for both facilities. In 2004, HCM produced it’s 3,000,000 th vehicle. In January 2005 Honda Ridgeline production began, marking Honda’s first entry into the pickup truck market.
